wUBI

wUBI rewards are distributed among all active hotspots based on their uptime and overall reliability. This system ensures that consistent, high-quality service is recognized and rewarded fairly.

How wUBI is Calculated

To calculate wUBI, three references are used for each epoch:

  1. The wUBI rewards pool.

  2. The individual Hotspot Uptime Score.

  3. The Network Uptime Score.

Formula:

(wUBI Pool ÷ Network Uptime Score) × Hotspot Uptime Score = Hotspot’s wUBI rewards

The total number of $WAYRU available in the wUBI rewards pool is divided by the Network Uptime Score and then multiplied by the Hotspot Uptime Score to determine the amount of $WAYRU distributed per Hotspot per epoch.

Eligibility Deposit

  • Operators must deposit 5,000 $WAYRU into their hotspot to activate wUBI rewards.

  • This deposit is locked for 30 days.

  • Withdrawing ends reward eligibility immediately.

wUBI Tiering System

wUBI rewards are tied to Hotspot performance and proof of coverage (PoC). Hotspots earn rewards by meeting one or more requirements that reflect uptime and service quality.

Reward Requirements

  • Heartbeat – Hourly signal proving the Hotspot is active. 24 per day expected.

  • Radio Uptime – Radios must continuously broadcast the required Wayru SSIDs. 24h per day expected.

  • Latency – Random tests performed every epoch. ≤50ms required for full eligibility.

  • Minimum Usage – At least five (5) daily user connections required. This increases by +5 each year.

If a Hotspot remains inactive for 60 days without meeting any requirement, it is tagged as such. Reactivation requires a penalty fee of $50 USD worth of $WAYRU.

  3. Network Uptime Score: 1 + 0.5 + 0 = 1.5

  4. Reward Pool Distribution:

  • Hotspot A’s share of the wUBI reward pool:

(240,000 ÷ 1.5) × 1 = 160,000 $WAYRU
  • Hotspot B’s share of the wUBI reward pool:

(240,000 ÷ 1.5) × 0.5 = 80,000 $WAYRU
  • Hotspot C’s share of the wUBI reward pool:

(240,000 ÷ 1.5) × 0 = 0 $WAYRU
  1. Result: 160,000 + 80,000 + 0 = 240,000 $WAYRU

wUBI is designed to maintain network health by rewarding uptime, reliability, and consistent service delivery.
