Banned Hotspots Policy
The Wayru Network upholds strict standards to maintain fairness, reliability, and integrity across its decentralized infrastructure. Any Hotspot that violates these standards is subject to immediate banning without prior notice. Once banned, a device is permanently removed from network participation and loses access to any deposits, staked tokens, or accumulated rewards.
Reasons for Banning
Hotspots can be banned for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to:
Gaming or Farming Activity: Artificially inflating uptime, usage, or performance metrics to gain unearned rewards.
Fraudulent Behavior: Manipulating software, firmware, or network protocols to deceive reward systems.
Multiple Account Abuses: Using multiple wallets or identities to bypass staking or deposit limits.
Tampering with WayruOS or Captive Portal Software: Unauthorized modification of official software or integration tools.
Unauthorized Hardware: Operating unapproved or incompatible devices that disrupt the network.
Interference or Spoofing: Using signal repeaters, VPN spoofing, or other methods to simulate non-existent traffic.
Violation of Host Agreements: Breaching terms set by Hosts, Operators, or the Wayru Foundation.
Malicious Network Activity: Hosting illegal content, launching cyberattacks, or compromising user security.
Penalties
Once a Hotspot is banned, the following actions take effect:
Loss of Deposits: All locked deposits associated with the Hotspot are forfeited and redirected to the Foundation’s reserve.
Loss of Staked Tokens: Any active stakes or position tokens tied to the banned Hotspot are permanently lost.
Reward Freezing: Pending or unclaimed rewards are immediately voided.
Network Access Revocation: The device is blacklisted from future onboarding or reconnection attempts.
Host Impact: Hosts associated with banned Hotspots will also lose eligibility for rewards related to that device.
Detection & Enforcement
The Wayru Network continuously monitors activity across all connected Hotspots using on-chain and off-chain verification systems. Detection mechanisms include:
Heartbeat Integrity Checks: Verifies uptime signals and timestamps.
Traffic Pattern Analysis: Detects irregular or artificial data flows.
Location & Latency Validation: Ensures consistency between registered and actual performance metrics.
Cross-Network Comparison: Flags multiple Hotspots behaving identically or from the same physical source.
Enforcement is automated and immediate, with appeals only considered in extraordinary circumstances and at the sole discretion of the Wayru Foundation.
Preventive Measures
Operators can minimize the risk of being banned by following best practices:
Use official WayruOS firmware or verified configurations only.
Maintain stable connectivity and accurate performance metrics.
Avoid VPNs, proxy routing, or signal spoofing tools.
Adhere strictly to host agreements and operational guidelines.
Regularly update devices and monitor the health of all deployed Hotspots.
Reinstatement Policy
Reinstatement is rare and not guaranteed. Requests must include:
Verifiable proof of device ownership.
Evidence of compliance and resolution of issues.
A review fee (denominated in $WAYRU) to cover verification and audit costs.
Re-mint hotspot on the network using $WAYRU tokens.
Only Hotspots cleared of intentional misconduct may be reconsidered for activation.
Foundation Authority
The Wayru Foundation reserves the right to:
Modify banning criteria based on new forms of abuse or network threats.
Conduct network-wide purges of fraudulent or inactive Hotspots.
Implement automated reputation scoring to prevent abuse.
Adjust penalties, including token forfeiture ratios and blacklisting durations.
Maintaining a clean and honest network is fundamental to Wayru’s mission. All participants, including Operators, Hosts, and users, share the responsibility to preserve transparency, fairness, and trust in Wayru's decentralized internet economy.
