Hosts

Assigning a Host to your Hotspot.

The success of each Hotspot relies heavily on Hosts. These are local businesses or individuals who provide a location, electricity, and sometimes backhaul connectivity. Hosts play a pivotal role in making internet access accessible to all.

Assigning a Host

  • Hotspot Operators can assign a Hotspot to a Host by paying $5 USD in $WAYRU, plus blockchain transaction and protocol fees.

  • This fee updates the metadata of the Hotspot’s Non-Fungible Node (NFN) so the Host can also claim rewards.

Rewards Split

  • When assigning the Hotspot, the Operator sets a percentage of rewards allocated to the Host.

  • The Host receives a notification, reviews the offer, and validates the device’s final location.

  • The reward percentage is negotiated directly between Operator and Host, creating flexible agreements based on mutual benefit.

By partnering with Hosts, Operators extend coverage into key locations while sharing rewards, creating stronger incentives for local adoption and network growth.
