  1. BUILD THE NETWORK

Data-only Nodes

WiFi Routers compatible with Hotspot 2.0 standards.

Data-only nodes (DONs) are devices used to offload data for telcos or connect users via Passpoint technology through the Wayru mobile app. They can be purchased from any major brand or distributor.

How They Work

  • Telco Offloading: The DONs serve as endpoints to offload data traffic, improving efficiency for telcos and ISPs.

  • Wayru Users Connectivity: The Wayru mobile app, which uses Passpoint technology, allows users to connect to DONs and access the Internet.

  • Rewards: The DONs earn $WAYRU tokens via the wUPI rewards system only when users actively connect to the Hotspot.

Getting Started

  1. Buy a Compatible Device: Purchase a unit that supports Hotspot 2.0 (aka Passpoint) from brands like Mikrotik, TP-Link, Linksys, Ubiquiti, Cisco Meraki, and others.

  2. Set Up the Device: Follow the configuration guides (TBA Release Date).

  3. Activate on Wayru: Link the device to your Wayru account via the app.

*Onboarding for Large Fleets will be Wayru's first approach.

*Retail onboarding will be available in Q3 2025.
