How Passpoint-compatible Hotspots Work
- Telco Offloading: These units serve as endpoints to offload data traffic, improving efficiency for telcos and ISPs. 
- Wayru Users Connectivity: The Wayru mobile app, which uses Passpoint technology, allows users to connect to these Hotspots and access the Internet. 
- Rewards: These Hotspots earn $WAYRU tokens via the wUPI rewards system only when users actively connect to the Hotspot. 
Getting Started
- Buy a Compatible Device: Purchase a unit that supports Hotspot 2.0 (aka Passpoint) from brands like Mikrotik, TP-Link, Linksys, Ubiquiti, Cisco Meraki, and others. 
- Set Up the Device: Follow the simple software configuration guides (TBA Release Date). 
- Activate on Wayru: Link the device to your Wayru account via the Wayru Builders Mobile app. 
*Onboarding Large compatible Fleets will be Wayru's first approach.
*Retail onboarding will be available in Q4 2025.
