Passpoint-compatible nodes are devices used by telcos to offload data using Passpoint technology and can be purchased from any major brand or distributor worldwide. Learn more here.

How Passpoint-compatible Hotspots Work

  • Telco Offloading: These units serve as endpoints to offload data traffic, improving efficiency for telcos and ISPs.

  • Wayru Users Connectivity: The Wayru mobile app, which uses Passpoint technology, allows users to connect to these Hotspots and access the Internet.

  • Rewards: These Hotspots earn $WAYRU tokens via the wUPI rewards system only when users actively connect to the Hotspot.

Getting Started

  1. Buy a Compatible Device: Purchase a unit that supports Hotspot 2.0 (aka Passpoint) from brands like Mikrotik, TP-Link, Linksys, Ubiquiti, Cisco Meraki, and others.

  2. Set Up the Device: Follow the simple software configuration guides (TBA Release Date).

  3. Activate on Wayru: Link the device to your Wayru account via the Wayru Builders Mobile app.
