Eligibility Deposit
The Eligibility Deposit is a core requirement for hotspot operators on the Wayru Network. It serves as a simple but essential safeguard that ensures every hotspot earning rewards is actively maintained, operated in good faith, and contributes real value to the network.
This section explains clearly what the deposit is, why it exists, how it works, and what operators should expect.
What Is the Eligibility Deposit?
To activate reward eligibility, each hotspot must have 5,000 $WAYRU deposited and locked. This deposit is:
Not a fee: it belongs to the operator.
Refundable: unless the hotspot violates rules.
Required: without it, rewards do not accumulate.
It is a basic economic signal that the operator intends to deploy the hotspot seriously and keep it online.
Why Does It Exist?
Hotspot rewards are meant for real coverage, not gaming the system. The deposit helps prevent:
Abandoned or low‑effort deployments
Fraudulent farms and artificial traffic setups
Operators onboarding devices with no intent to maintain them
The Eligibility Deposit keeps the ecosystem fair, healthy, and aligned with long‑term network growth.
Withdraw anytime after 30 days
Once unlocked, the operator can withdraw the deposit at any time.
Withdrawing the deposit results in immediate loss of eligibility for rewards. Rewards stop instantly (no backlog, no partial payouts).
A deposit can be made again at any time to restore eligibility.
