Tiering System for Shared Wi-Fi Networks
To reward shared Wi-Fi for network performance based on speed and quality, we have established a tiering system where points are assigned based on Mbps for speed and latency for quality. The maximum reward per connection is capped at 5 wPoints.
Performance Metrics
Speed (Mbps)
Latency (ms)
Speed Rewards Table
Speed (Mbps) | wPoints |
---|---|
âĨ250 Mbps | 4 |
âĨ150 Mbps | 3 |
âĨ100 Mbps | 2 |
âĨ50 Mbps | 1 |
< 50 Mbps | 0 |
Latency Rewards Table
Latency (ms) | Points |
---|---|
⤠50 ms | 1 |
> 50 ms | 0 |
đĄ The Rewards shown in the graphs above and the examples below are merely for explanation. The final tiering system will be announced once on MainNet.
wPoints Calculation
To calculate the total wPoints earned per connection, we sum the wPoints from the speed and latency results.
Examples
High-Performance Connection
Speed: 250 Mbps
Latency: 20 ms
Calculation: 4 (Speed) + 1 (Latency) = 5 wPoints
Mid-Performance Connection
Speed: 100 Mbps
Latency: 40 ms
Calculation: 2 (Speed) + 1 (Latency) = 3 wPoints
Low-Performance Connection
Speed: 50 Mbps
Latency: 60 ms
Calculation: 1 (Speed) + 0 (Latency) = 1 wPoint
Through adopting a tiering system grounded on quality metrics, the Wayru Network motivates WiFi Sharers to uphold superior connection standards, fostering a more robust and dependable decentralized internet for every user.
