To calculate wUPI, we use three (3) references: the wUPI rewards pool, the individual Hotspot Usage Score, and the Network Usage Score.
The total number of $WAYRU available in the wUPI rewards pool is divided by the Network Usage Score and then multiplied by the Hotspot Usage Score to determine the amount of $WAYRU distributed per Hotspot per epoch.
The daily Hotspot Usage Score is calculated using different ratios based on the data type (GBs).
There are three types of Data access on the network:
Premium Data:
Telcos purchase Premium Data using fiat or crypto to offload Carrier Data.
1 Premium GB equals 1 point toward the daily Hotspot Usage Score.
Freemium Data:
Users consume Freemium Data via Wayru's mobile app or native captive portal.
100 Fremium GBs equals 1 point toward the daily Hotspot Usage Score.
Unsettled Data:
OpenRoaming or similar unsettled WiFi access.
1,000 Unsettled GBs equals 1 point toward the daily Hotspot Usage Score.
Premium has a 1:1 ratio, Freemium has a 100:1 ratio, and Unsettled has a 1,000:1 ratio toward the daily Hotspot Usage Score.
The ratios reflect the respective contributions of each data type toward the daily Hotspot Usage Score.
