Hotspots get rewarded for uptime and usage.

Types of Rewards

1. Universal Basic Income (wUBI)- Equally distributed among all the active hotspots.

2. Usage & Performance Income (wUPI)- Distributed among all the active hotspots based on individual hotspot performance.

Rewards Calculation

To calculate wUBI, the total number of $WAYRU available for the wUBI rewards pool is divided by the total number of active Hotspots on the network during an epoch, determining the amount of $WAYRU distributed per active Hotspot.

To calculate wUPI, the total number of $WAYRU available for the wUPI rewards pool is divided by the total GBs consumed on the network during an epoch, determining the amount of $WAYRU distributed per GB provided.

wUBI Tiering Systems

We have designed several Tiering Systems to calculate wUBI properly and reward everyone according to a Hotspot's performance and participation.

Eligibility Deposit

Hotspot Operators must deposit 5,000 $WAYRU into their hotspots to activate rewards distribution. This Deposit has a cool-down period of one month for withdrawal. Once a withdrawal has started, the Hotspot stops generating rewards. This prevents bad actors in the ecosystem.

Reward Period

Rewards are distributed on a per-epoch basis. An epoch is 24 hours long, and there are 365 per year. The rewards distribution starts when the token goes live on the Mainnet Q3-Q4 2024.
