Speed
The Wayru Network is implementing a Speed-Based Tiering System to reward hotspots based on their internet speed. This system ensures users receive high-quality connectivity and incentivizes hotspot operators to maintain superior network performance.
Minimum Speed Requirements
Hotspots must meet a minimum speed threshold of 50 Mbps to qualify for rewards. This baseline ensures that all connected users experience reliable and satisfactory internet service.
Reward Multiplier System
Hotspots that provide speeds above the minimum threshold will be eligible for increased rewards. The reward multipliers are designed to encourage the deployment of high-speed internet solutions, thus enhancing the overall quality of the Wayru Network. The multipliers are as follows:
Speed Range | Reward Multiplier |
---|---|
under 10 Mbps | x 0.25 |
10 Mbps to 25 Mbps | x 0.5 |
26 Mbps to 50 Mbps | x 0.75 |
51 Mbps to 100 Mbps | x 1 |
101 Mbps to 250 Mbps | x 1.25 |
251 Mbps to 500 Mbps | x 1.5 |
501 Mbps to 1 Gbps | x 1.75 |
Above 1 Gbps | x 2 |
The speeds will be monitored using automated speed tests conducted at random daily intervals. These tests will measure download and upload speeds to ensure compliance with the tiering system.
